An SIP is not a product. It is an instruction to invest a fixed amount on a fixed date, and it only works if the plumbing behind it is sound.
Most SIPs that fail do so for administrative reasons: a mandate that was never registered, a bank change that was never updated, or a signature mismatch nobody caught. We treat the mandate as seriously as the scheme selection, because a missed instalment is a missed month you never get back.
We help you set the instalment amount and date, register the NACH or e-mandate with your bank, and confirm the first debit actually goes through. When your income changes, we can register a step-up so the instalment rises on a set schedule. When money is tight, a pause is usually better than a cancellation, and we will explain the difference.
Rupee-cost averaging means you buy more units when the NAV is low and fewer when it is high. It does not protect you from loss and it does not guarantee a profit — it simply removes the need to guess entry points.
Every item below is execution or servicing work carried out on your instructions.
The instalment for that date is missed. Repeated failures can cause the bank to deregister the mandate, and some AMCs cancel an SIP after a set number of consecutive failures. We flag failures early so the mandate can be fixed.
Yes. An SIP can be stopped at any time; there is no penalty for stopping. Units already allotted stay invested until you redeem them, and exit load and lock-in rules continue to apply to those units.
No. Longer holding periods have historically reduced the range of outcomes in equity schemes, but nothing about future returns is assured. Past performance is not indicative of future results.
